60 Carats of Emeralds and Sterling silver.......

Sneak Peek.

But first let me feature the lady I am doing this give away for.
Liss Silverwing is the name she goes by in Facebook. Felicia Ciobota is her full name and she is trying to raise funds for her Dad to have a procedure for his heart.
You can find Liss here , here and here. Liss also runs auctions on Outbid and can be found here. Check the times out and see if you can get a great piece at a great price.

Liss is a creative artist designing handcrafted pendants of selective and custom made artwork at affordable prices.
In her words....
"I draw my inspiration from my desire to provide a decent living for 4 year old. Being a single parent makes me realize I need to put every ounce of effort into my designs for him.
I've been making pendants and painting them for several years, and I find painting and crafting to be my escape and a very beautiful work.
I have all kinds of ideas that I want to explore for my art and start making more than pendants  but I need a lot of encouragement and support for that.
I recently took up digital painting as well so if you want a totally original painting done after a photograph of loved ones or just some other picture that you love, you can let me know and we can work it out."
If people want to buy, go here  , and mention the code FusionMuse to obtain 10% off the purchase.

So that is Liss. My give away is so that you might want to support her.
How to enter?
1. One entry is to go and like her FB page.
2. Another 5 entries can be added if you make a purchase.
3. Another entry can be obtained if you come back here and tell me which of her pieces or artworks you like best.

Thats it.

Free Beads for blogging is going great guns and I am happy to say all five spots were filled last week.
Yes I am late again. My head and a little bit of life got in the way.Let me explain.
Suglite Cab

This lovely stone as cut for me by an inexperienced cutter who unfortunately cut the rough the wrong way to get the best colour. This is one of the rejects and looks a little black when not in full sun but has divine purple colour otherwise. I have this and few more if you are interested email me.
So I was introduced to a new guy.....Well he promised me as part of the contract we made he would only cut the rest of the rough to get the best colour out of the stone that was left. I figured there was about 20-40 carats of colour in the stones I left him with. I was excited because Sugilite is a beautiful stone and quite rare and expensive. I went back when they rang to say they were done and he had cut all the rough and ALL the stones were black.Only one had a streak of colour that was in the middle and NO purple in the others. I told him I was not paying and he suggested he recut it for me to see if there was anyway to improve on his work. I told him not to bother but he did anyway.

So I went back and now even the one that had colour has no colour and this man wants me to pay $1.20 a carat for cutting. There is about 500 carats in the bundle. I refuse because he still hasnt done what he said he would do and I left.
This was about 2 weeks ago. Since then the phone has not been quiet and the threats started so I went to the police to sort it all. Truth has prevailed and he is in trouble if he doesnt leave me alone.
The biggest problem was that the stress set me off.My head has had really bad days and I was not able to focus on anything more complex than a simple FB posting for many days. Sleep was had but it didnt help much. I think the last giveaway blog post was the biggest thing I did in a short while (check that out too and go in the draw for the Rubies and Pearls). So now I am back on track.
Oh and we had baby bunnies. Will post about them another day.

Here are the winners from last week. This weeks will be announced on Sunday and cut off day for this week is today. If you have tried before and want to still be in the running then please comment on a post  and I will put you in the draw for the week. Fair's fair.

Ok all from me for today.I will catch up more soon.Got a web page to complete for the first Bead soup reveal and that is FUN FUN FUN.

I have been greatly saddened by so many passing and so many young ones being taken of late.
I want to give some sort of help......to be there in some way....to hold a hand.....be a shoulder.....to be allowed to show I care. Know that feeling?

This is NOT a nice feel good topic so if you want to please just close the page and come back again another day. Having said that I want to share what I CAN do.

I have so many pretties sitting in plastic baggies waiting patiently for me to list or to sell or do something with and it occurred to me that with something I have sitting I can help someone who needs some support.

I am acquaintances with the lovely fellow who owns the Sinarin Silver web site. He and his wife lost two out of three of their triplets about two weeks ago.The third little fellow is in the ICU and will possibly be there for about another 6 weeks. ICU is expensive when you have little or no insurance.

So how do these things connect?

I am going to give away this set of Rubies and Pearls (approx100 carats of Rubies and rows of Freshwater Seed pearls all set in Sterling silver) to one of you. It has a retail value of $1400. The rubies are actually more red in person. My pics do leave a lot to be desired I am afraid to say but who ever get this set will not be disappointed. It took me about 3 weeks to make.

The SET.
The necklace measures approx 30 inches at the longest strand and the shortest one is about 24 inches. The Earrings are lever back sterling silver hooks and measure approx 2 inches from the curve of the hook to the end of the longest part.

Why is she doing this? Because I can.

How do I get in the give away ?
There are a few ways.
1. Go and check out the web page and choose your favourite. Come back and comment here. (That's one entry)
2. Buy something and come back and comment here ( That is technically two entries cause you visited and purchased.)
3. Share the link.(please tell me in the comments where you did and that can be another entry for you)
4. Write a quick post on your blog about the site (this is a 5 entry thing because it will go out there so much further) and come back and comment here please.

I will run this until August 15th to give you all some time to play. The more entries the more chance you get to win this lovely set. The winner will be randomly chosen.

Ready Set Go......
Love and hugs

My soup arrived today.
OMG !!!!! I was so excited. It came so fast.My lovely partner is Miko Wiropati, Uniquely Yunikua and she is based in Indonesia. Miko and I have become friends online just recently as she saw some beads in my store and I sent them to her as a gift.
So what did I get?????
Loads of yummy pieces to play with. Yes Yummy. Fried Egg sandwiches anyone?
Well I was inspired but Thomas tells me that they wont fit in the pan so I am going to do something different with them instead. I think I will "do my Saturn" instead and you will have to wait until reveal date of 25th August for that one.
Here is the rest of the collection. I had a hard time getting them all in the shot.

So many pieces to play with and I have ideas for all. I even get to combine some of my new beads that I picked up just today and I am going to make a clasp to go with one piece because it is crying for some Brass.LOL So much fun and I am itching to get started.
Stay tuned. Tomorrow I announce the giveaway beads for blogging winners of the week. Please take the time to check out what others have won and done with their giveaway pieces.

Love and Hugs to all

I had a little time this week and so I hand wrapped some chains. These are for sale in my Handmade Artists store. This store and all the stores in this site are guaranteed to have items made by the artists themselves with NO resellers allowed. About time we found a place that will up hold its principles instead of wanting to make a fast buck at others expense.

I have a promo running to give away beads. YES, no strings attached giveaway. No cost involved except a little time and effort to put a button on your blog.I gave away 5 parcels already Are you interested? Take a peek at the rules here. Nothing to lose.

I think this week we will test run this new chain. There are at least 6 different colour combos so all who are interested will get a section of chain and some findings to play with as well as beads.
Looking forward to sending parcels.

I know this was supposed to go a few days ago but I have been held up by a combination of things that were totally out of my control. Hence the late post but it is here now, better late than never.

We had 5 lovely ladies add our Free beads button to their blog side bars and I have sent parcels. How long until they arrive? How long is a piece of string ? LOL  For what ever reason the post takes its own sweet time no matter how quickly I get the bundles to the post office. So expect 10-21 days.
So who won?

Drum roll Please
Sarah from Pookledo.
This is her lovely work and you can find her at the links below.

Normally I would be featuring someone on a Friday and we will start with guests as of next week. I have had such a fun time kick starting the blog again and getting the free beads competition running and sorting out swaps that the week ran away. I have a jump start on next week though and have it almost finished.
So today let me tell you about me.
I am originally from Australia and grew up in Sydney.I now live in Bangkok and love it here.

Loads of new stuff coming in the second half of this year and many projects that I have been working on for a few months are finally starting to unfold.

I have a hobby and make lovely jewelry to suit many different tastes and styles. I love to use great gems and silver but am now branching out into Brass and Copper as metals of choice. This is because I can get them easily and my new pieces....well I am wanting to melt metal and hammer more.Love my tools.

We have a cat we rescued and 4 bunnies, 2 of whom were blogged about in an earlier post and we all live happily in a small townhouse in the suburbs of Bangkok.

We will be running competitions, giveaways and other fun things as time goes by. What a busy life we lead.

On that note it is time to go and start my next task.

After sitting and playing with my lovely gemmies and metals a little of late I want to share.
It is my hope for as many of you who ask, to be able to play as well.
Starting this week we will give away up to 5 parcels of beads to those who have a current, active blog. As time goes on depending upon interest this number may increase.
All items that are sent out will be available through our Etsy store unless sold out.

You are asked to blog a minimum of three times about the beads you get; once when you get them (a pic is good with a link as to where you got them), the second time as you create (a work in progress) and the final time is when your creation is completed. You are not expected to use every bead (but you can) and you can add in items from your own stash to complete the items you make.
4. Share your blog pages with us and others.

Fine Print :
1. You can apply for giveaway beads as often you want but the limit is one set per household per three months. (This gives time for others to play as well as for you to create).
2. If you choose not to follow the rules then we will choose not to allow you to play again.

The Code for the Button
Copy and Paste this html code into your blog page when blogging about your Beads so that others can have a chance to play too.

Thoughtful Thursday

I have been sorting myself for the last few weeks. Oh my Gosh what a mess!!!! LOL
My life has been kind of on hold because my headache returned and so I was trying to work out how to reduce the headache. I even went off my pain meds to see if that would help and whilst it did for a few days I am now using them again to get through the day.
So a Thoughful Thursday. There are so many many ideas running in my head and it is time to implement them. As a result one of the things I want to do is the join the Bead Soup Blog Hop. Once a year it is hosted by the lovely Lori and here is the link. Sign up is this weekend. You can join too as long as you fit the rules.
Ok off to do some more.
See you tomorrow.

Bead Soup Blog Party

A much better day today.
Ok so the movies of my items going out...That hallucination lol
I want to feature some pieces here and then I am going to put them into an FB store. It is a good place to start. I am also wanting to feature pieces from other artists and to find lovely bits that all can talk about. Places, people and things that we can add our support to.
The NGO funding got a small boost today when we made a small sale on Tophatter.com. This is an auction house style site and boy it is fun. So many beautiful pieces in a whole lot of categories and prices are good. Bidding is fast and furious and if you stop to chat you can get sidelined and miss out on the piece you were wanting so you need to stay focused.
The piece we sold today was this lovely set.
The lady got a bargain and it has finally been sent off to it's new home. I am happy, she is happy and I have found new friends and a new fun way to promote.
This is green Quartz and Picture Jasper set with Sterling silver and pale lemon yellow seed beads. It was first made about 6 years ago and has been remade 3 times since. I am glad it has finally gone on it's way.
Rescued and Reskilled has now gotten its first real funds as well and I am so happy to know that it will happen. One piece at a time until we get the needed monies for registration and then we can make it snow ball into the organisation we want it to grow into.
More about the ideas of the NGO tomorrow.
Love and hugs to all

Monday, March 19, 2012

Well today was a sleepy flu kind of day.Makes doing much a huge chore and so I slept a lot.Not really productive for business.
Fusion Muse is a mixture of ideas so I watched another one come into play today.
I only watched it because I was stuck in bed with a sore throat and body aches.LOL What fun.
I think I was kind of dreaming in that half awake half sleep mode when I "saw" in my minds eye the whole business model unroll and begin to work.A bit like a film.
I saw my pieces going to new homes and I saw the people getting them being really really happy with them.
I am going to have a give away.
What to give to you all?
I will have a think.
Tomorrow I will unveil it.Maybe tonight while I sleep it will become even more clear.
In the meantime this is a quick snap shot of my little friends who came to play while I was sleeping. They really are cute.

Talk soon
Tanya

Saturday, March 17, 2012

Today I sat and worked on new ways to make this all tick.
I read a lot of blogs, watched a couple of videos on marketing and promotion and then played on new selling site.
I learnt today that even in auctions that people will not always like your pieces and if you are not 100% in favour of the piece then dont bother. Let me show you.
This is a lovely piece of handbag jewelry.I made it for a show in New York last November that was a total disaster from the get go. It is a really wonderful chunk of Pink tourmaline (quite an expensive stone these days) with black crystals and a a few dangles. The big round white disc reminds me of a full moon and the Fine silver ring has dream stamped on it.The black wings are there to help you fly to reach your dreams. The sturdy key chain attachment means you can use it as a key ring instead if you wish. All the other metals are Fine or Sterling Silver.
This is not a great photo.I can see this clearly. I used it because I really am not attached to the outcome of this piece any longer.
The sadness and disappointment at it having to come back from the US instead of going to a new home has coloured my outlook on all the pieces that were made. There were more than 100 sets and individual pieces that went. The ones that I havent given away already are safely stored in a drawer.I am working up courage to get them out and to work with them again.
So this really lovely piece is a steal at $15 and yet it still is with me.I am going to dismantle it I think and remake it into something new.I am feeling I may just do that with the rest of the collection.Either that or build a whole new story around each piece. That is a thought. One I will sit with for a little while and then work on it more.
So if anyone would like this piece please email me fusionmuseoffice@gmail.com and let me know before Monday as that will be the day it goes under the cutters and is transformed.
Please remember that all profits are going towards the NGO we are setting up and every dollar helps.More about the NGO at a later time.
Love and Hugs
Tanya

Thursday, March 15, 2012

This has been an idea in the making for some time now.
I have had it in the back of my mind to make a way to show the world my lovely pieces, talk about inspirations, techniques and share what I can.I also hope that this will be a platform for people to get to know my work and it is my hope that sales can begin to happen also.
Fusion Muse is a concept that has grown from a simple idea and hopefully will grow large enough to support a small community. It is my intention to have monies from the items we sell go towards an NGO to help those who have been trafficked, traded or been subject to sexploitation. Our aim is to reskill and retrain these people and to give them a future where they can work in various industries and be independent. As part of the postings here I want to present my work, their work (once we are established) and share the successes as we go.I am excited to have finally begun.
So on Day 1 I have introduced us.Now onwards and moving forwards.
Love and hugs to all
Tanya
